Collections and Search Services
Our printed collections are available at our libraries. At the public computers in the libraries you can also get access to our databases and journals. Please note that general access to them are only for employees and students at Lund University, log in with your Lucat or Student account.
In the library catalogue LUBcat, you can see if the book you are looking for is available, if it is a course book or a reference book, which library it is placed at and the shelving location. You can choose which library you prefer as pick-up location when placing a request for a book. It is not possible to place a request for available course books.
Atlases, dictionnaries & handbooks
Many atlases, dictionnaries and different types of handbooks within inom medicine, biomedicine and health are freely available:
- Bookshelf PubMed – free online access to books and documents in life science and healthcare
- MediLexicon – Acronyms and abbreviations within medicine, pharmacology and healthcare
- Merck Manual for the Professional – Index Diagnosis and Therapy
- Medscape eMedicine Specialties – Evidencebased guidelines (peer reviewed) for physicians
E-books purchased by the library can be found in LUBsearch. They can be used by external visitors at the library computers, or accessed via LUBsearch for students and employees, log in to LUBsearch with student account or LUCAT.
Scientific Journals and och databases
In our libraries you have access to our digital collections including databases and e-books. LUBsearch is the Lund University portal for accessing the library collection of e-journals, e-books and databases. LUBsearch is freely searchable, but the electronic journals can only be read and downloaded on the university network. For off-campus access, log in to LUBsearch with your LUCAT or student account. Choose "Hello, Guest. Login fo full access".
Open Access Journals – Freely Available for Everyone
In open access journals you can find quality controlled, scientific articles freely available online. You can find many open access journals within medicine in databases such as PubMed or Scopus.
Databases within medicine
PubMed – free and open access
In Embase you can find resources within clinical and experimental research, as well as pharmaceutical literature. In LUBsearch, search for Embase, or choose E in the alfabetical list.
In Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews you can find systematic reviews from different randomized controlled trails.
Cochrane – not open access
Bibliographic database with 700 000 citations to articles, dissertations and conference proceedings within health sciences and occupational therapy. In LUBsearch, search for Cinahl, or choose C in the alfabetical list
PsycINFO has references within psychology, psychiatry, and sociology. In LUBsearch, search for PsycINFO, or choose P in the alfabetical list.
