A bigger picture of Alzheimer’s disease

The international Alzheimer day takes place on 21 September. About 100 000 people in Sweden suffer from Alzheimer, a disease which also affect many family members and relatives.

At the same time promising research brings new hope, with many of the international recognized findings originating from Lund University.

Since the beginning of 2021 the strategic research area MultPark has presented new and valuable results about Alzheimer’s disease. These include:

  • enhanced possibilities to detect early stages of the disease
  • potential for improved health care due to interdisciplinary collaboration
  • new and highly targeted diagnostic tools containing blood samples and cognitive tests
