Search, find and borrow

Find books, articles and more: The libraries at Lund University have a wide range of tools for literature search. In addition to the library catalogue LUBcat, there are Lund University portal for accessing the library collection of e-journals, e-books, and databases as well as other search services that you can use for finding essential medical and health literature.

Use the catalogue to search for books, journals and other materials at Lund University's libraries. In the library catalogue LUBcat you see if where a book is located and if it is available or for library use only. In LUBcat you can also request available books from other libraries at Lund University. You will receive an email when your materials are ready.

Access scientific journals and databases through LUBsearch

LUBsearch is the Lund University portal for accessing the library collection of e-journals, e-books and databases. LUBsearch is freely searchable, but the electronic journals, articles or e-books can only be read and downloaded on the university network. Off-campus access is only available for students and employees at Lund University with student or Lucat iD.

External visitors can come to our service points for help to search for scientific material. Our e-books and e-journals are available on our public computers.

External visitors can pick up a library card at our libraries. Please register for a library account before you visit us and pick up your library card, and do not forget to bring valid photo ID. At the library information desk you also get a PIN code to use at the self-service machines.

Students and staff at Lund University use their LU card as their library card. You can also borrow with an ID card or a RSID card at the library service points. Use your LU card pin code at the self-service machines.

The loan period for course literature is 14 days, with automatic renewal up to 5 times as long as the book is not requested by another patron. For other books in our collections the loan period is 28 days with automatic renewal if the book is not requested by another patron. You are personally responsible for your loans and keeping track of lending periods.

Fines for delayed books are 10 SEK per book and day.The borrower is barred from further loans at all libraries within LU if the fees owed exceed 100 SEK, and has an obligation to return all late material without delay if requested to do so.

Fines are paid at the library service desks at CRC or in Forum Medicum/BMC. We accept only card payments: Visa, MasterCard, or Maestro. If you still do not return the book, we will send an invoice for the item’s purchase price and a handling fee of SEK 300.
