Application for PhD positions

Apply for a pre-defined PhD project

The most common way to obtain a fully funded PhD position is to apply for one of the vacancies for PhD positions. These posts are competitive positions, and when you are selected you will be funded for the duration of your PhD. They consist of a pre-defined PhD project, within the research group that is advertising the position. These vacancies are advertised on a continuous basis, as they become available, on the university online job portal. Please check back regularly for new opportunities.

If you find an advertised project that suits your research interests, you can apply for this position, by following the online application instructions. The specific criteria for applicants may vary per vacancy, therefore it is advised you check the application criteria carefully for each application. The advertised PhD positions are on the university website for at least 3 weeks. After the application deadline, the supervisor will select a candidate from the applicants. The department will then check that the candidate is eligible for final admission. The application, together with the form Admission form for PhD studies (to be filled out in conjunction with your supervisor - download via the link below) will then be submitted to the PhD-committee that take the formal decision of admission and then register the candidate. The candidate will then receive an official transcript confirming the admission.
