External funding
How to proceed when you have obtained an external scholarship to pursue a PhD?
You may be admitted to the PhD programme at Lund University Faculty of Medicine with an externally funded scholarship.
Note, however, that there are no individual grants available from Lund University for (international) PhD students . Thus, you will need to obtain funding from your home country, or other grant issuing body, such as a scholarship from a research foundation or a government issued grant. Please also note that you can not fund your studies with your private funding.
There are very specific requirements for such funding. Before you proceed, please make sure the funding you have meets these requirements.

If you do not have access to such funding, the Postgraduate Studies Secretariat will not be able to help you. The following information only concerns those who have already obtained an external scholarship or grant.
If you have access to funding, you can proceed by identifying your area of research interest. With your own funding, you can collaborate with an existing research group to define your PhD research project. Use the research database below to find the research groups of your interest.
