Strategic intent

The Faculty of Medicine’s strategic intent 2025–2030

The Faculty of Medicine's strategic intent is a tool to support prioritisation and development by clarifying our visions and values. We live in a time of change and uncertainty, but also a time that brings new opportunities.

Our strategic intent is linked to Lund University's overall goal: increased international impact. Our strategic intent does not provide answers to all questions but aims to set a direction for our work and prioritises important areas to work with at different levels of our faculty.

Fundamental to the strategic work

Fundamental to the faculty's strategic work is that we:

  • have a leading, inspiring and versatile role in research and education.
  • strive for the highest quality guided by science and facts.
  • attract talent and create conditions for retaining and developing a skilled workforce.
  • create an attractive workplace where all employees take responsibility and contribute to the faculty's development.
  • operate based on principles of sustainability, gender equality and equal opportunities.
  • are a faculty with strong integrity and we value our autonomy.
  • contribute actively to the surrounding society by being a creative and dynamic partner to both public and private actors, as well
  • as other higher education institutions.
  • together with the university healthcare in Skåne make new progress for the benefit of people's lives and health.
